CGI Programming Techniques
Course description
This introduction to developing server side applications
will cover web server configuration, browser and server communication,
HTTP headers, HTML forms processing, fast CGI, and applications
such as e-mail and online databases. (24 hours; hands on)
Prerequisites
Familiarity with UNIX or UNIX for Webmasters; Programming
Fundamentals or previous programming courses or experience;
Perl Programming for the Web or previous Perl courses or experience;
and Intermediate World Wide Web Authoring (or similar course
or equivalent experience).

Because the primary framework for instruction is the Internet,
you must have convenient access to the Internet and your own
email account. You will use these to access instructional
materials, send email messages to the instructor, and participate
in online discussions. You will need the version 4 edition
(or better) of either Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet
Explorer. Both are free for downloading and installation.
