This course focuses is on left ventricular systolic function. The course covers the basics of the cardiac cycle and left ventricular systolic function pathology. This is followed by a tutorial on how to measure left ventricular systolic function with echocardiography.
SCA Assessment of Right Ventricular Systolic Function
Impaired right ventricular function is a less common cause of haemodynamic instability in the perioperative and critical care setting, than left ventricular dysfunction, but often produces more severe consequences. The course focuses is on right ventricular systolic function. The course covers right ventricular systolic function pathology.
SCA Assessment of Diastolic Function
This course focuses on left ventricular diastolic function. The course starts with the estimation of left atrial pressure, followed by a tutorial on how to measure left ventricular diastolic function with echocardiography.
Focused Cardiac Ultrasound – TTE
The FCU TTE Course is designed for Surgeons, Physicians, Registrars, Resident medical officers and Students who wish to get started using echocardiography to complement their clinical evaluation. It includes hands on training of image acquisition as well as diagnosis of interesting cardiac pathology using a cardiac ultrasound simulator, which enables the development of basic proficiency before clinical use.
Focused Cardiac Ultrasound – TEE
The FCU TOE Course is designed for Surgeons, Physicians, Registrars and resident medical officers who wish to get started using transoesophageal echocardiography to complement their clinical evaluation. The course is suitable for guiding decision making during cardiac and non-cardiac surgery as well as in critically ill patients in the intensive care or emergency department.
Focused Cardiac Ultrasound – Peri-Arrest
The FCU Peri-arrest Course offers systematic diagnosis of conditions that cause peri-arrest and cardiac arrest, including ultrasound of the heart, lung and abdomen. The course provides a good knowledge-base reinforced with learning practical skills performing and interpreting ultrasound of the heart, lung and abdomen with realistic ultrasound simulators.
FUSE Ultrasound Guided Simulator Vascular Access
The FUSE Vascular Course offers venous or arterial cannulation to increase success and reduce the risk of complications by guidance with ultrasound. The course covers ultrasound-guided cannulation of central and peripheral veins (internal jugular, subclavian, femoral, PICC) and arteries (femoral, brachial and radial). The course provides a good knowledge-base reinforced with learning practical skills with realistic ultrasound simulators.
